About Melanotan I

Melanotan I is afamelanotide, a stabilized analog of alpha-MSH. As Scenesse, a slow-release implant placed under the skin, it is approved to increase pain-free light exposure in erythropoietic protoporphyria, a rare disorder that makes sunlight painful. It is more selective for the pigment receptor than melanotan II.

Melanotan I calculator questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 10 mg Melanotan I vial?

The calculator does not prescribe a volume; the right choice depends on how large you want each draw to be. As arithmetic: 10 mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 50 mcg. Use the “Water to add” tab to work backwards from a draw size.

What concentration does Melanotan I have after reconstitution?

Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water volume. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL is 5 mg/mL. Check the certificate of analysis for net peptide content, which is usually lower than the label.
