Independent peptide research reference

What the research actually shows

Plain-language profiles of 85 peptides and related compounds, each rated by the strength of its evidence and linked to the studies behind every claim. Plus reconstitution calculators that do the arithmetic and nothing else.

BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide studied mainly for tendon, ligament, muscle and gut healing in rodents. More than a hundred animal studies report faster healing, but a 2025 systematic review found only one small, uncontrolled human study, so its safety and effectiveness in people are unknown. Evidence scale

Every compound carries one label

The label reflects the strongest kind of evidence that exists, not how promising a compound sounds. A striking result in mice is still an animal result.

  1. Approved medicineApproved by the FDA or another major regulator for at least one indication.19 compounds
  2. Human RCTsRandomized, controlled trials in people, but not approved for the use described.10 compounds
  3. Early human dataSmall, uncontrolled or single-site human studies, case series or pharmacology studies.14 compounds
  4. Animal studiesFindings come mainly from rodent or other animal models.39 compounds
  5. Cell studiesFindings come mainly from cell culture or biochemical assays.3 compounds

Reconstitution calculator

Milligrams, millilitres and syringe units

Lyophilized peptides arrive as a dry powder measured in milligrams. Once you add water, the question becomes how many units on a U-100 insulin syringe hold a given amount. The calculator does that conversion, works backwards to the water volume, handles multi-compound blends and estimates cost per month.

It never suggests an amount. You bring the numbers; it does the arithmetic and flags draws that are too small to measure accurately or too large for the syringe.

How each profile is built

  1. Primary sources first

Claims trace to peer-reviewed papers, trial registries, regulator documents or, where noted, company announcements awaiting publication.

  2. Evidence before mechanism

We state who was studied and how before explaining why a compound might work. Mechanism without outcome data is labelled as such.

  3. Dated and revised

Each page shows when it was last reviewed. Regulatory status changes often; we update it when regulators act, not when rumours spread.

Frequently asked questions

What is Peptide Federation?

An independent reference that summarizes published research on 85 peptides and related compounds. Every profile states the compound’s regulatory status, the strength of its evidence and the studies behind each claim.

Do you sell peptides?

No. We do not sell, manufacture or distribute any compound, and we do not accept payment for placement or reviews.

Is the calculator a dosing tool?

No. It converts between milligrams, millilitres and syringe units for numbers you supply. It does not suggest amounts and cannot check purity or accuracy.

How do you rate evidence?

Each compound carries one of five labels, from “Approved medicine” to “Cell studies”, based on the strongest type of evidence available. See our editorial policy for the criteria.

Are research peptides legal?

It depends on the compound, the country and the purpose. Many are sold in the US labelled “for research use only”, which does not make them approved or safe for people. See our guide to regulatory status.
