AICAR reconstitution calculator

AICAR is commonly supplied as 50 mg vials. Pick a vial size and a water volume to see the concentration and what each syringe mark holds. Enter a target amount to see the draw. This page does not suggest any amount.

About AICAR

AICAR is a nucleoside that cells convert into an AMP mimic, activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), the cell’s energy sensor. In a 2008 study, sedentary mice given AICAR for four weeks ran 44% farther, which led to its description as an exercise mimetic and its ban in sport.

AICAR calculator questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to a 50 mg AICAR vial?

The calculator does not prescribe a volume; the right choice depends on how large you want each draw to be. As arithmetic: 50 mg in 5 mL gives 10 mg/mL, so each unit on a U-100 syringe holds 100 mcg. Use the “Water to add” tab to work backwards from a draw size.

What concentration does AICAR have after reconstitution?

Concentration is the vial mass divided by the water volume. For example, 50 mg in 5 mL is 10 mg/mL. Check the certificate of analysis for net peptide content, which is usually lower than the label.

Where can I read the research on AICAR?
